Korean Translator

Hi again! I'm back~

Anyway, I've been reading some manga from fan translation sites, and it seems that people need translators from the raws.

I can read and write Korean (I'm a native living in the states now). I have zero experience, but I'd love to help. So....if anyone needs a translator and is willing to train me, I'd love to help out, so leave me a comment!

Pandora Hearts Fans!

So....who's one?? For one, I am! I discovered the manga first while waiting for my folks to pick something up in Barnes and Noble since I was waiting in the manga section and the title made the series interesting. Honestly, I thought it was a slightly confusing series, but maybe it was because of the unofficial translation. Oh well. I've read TRC, obviously, and gotten through it. So Pandora Hearts was fine for me to read through. And now, I'm watching the anime and it cleared things up a LOT.

Believe it or not, my real reason for making this post is not only to update (which actually is a good thing, considering the last time I ever updated...lol), but using it as an excuse to make a picture be able to be my google profile pic. Google is getting a little bit under my skin, 'cause it's not letting me change my profile pic because it's too small or something. And when I found my pics online, the dimensions were HUGE. So yeah. I'm going to see if posting it up here's going to let me do it. And at the same time update. xD

Anyway, raise your hands for votes! Who's your favorite character-those of you who read the manga or watched the anime? Oz? Gil (Raven)? Alice? Break? Vincent? Echo? Reim? Sharon? Uncle Oscar? Or how about some of the "bad people?" Lotti? (haha, the only one I can remember now is Lotti and the weird lady that Raven hates because she used his body to send Oz to the Abyss...) My favorite character is Gil! Raven is great, hands down. :D

 lol this is what happens when I get in my fangirl/otaku mode. so many pics.....:D anyway, disclaimer: I don't own any of these pics, they all belong to their respective owners. 

So...yeah! If you haven't read/watched the anime, you really should go do it! I really like all the characters, since they all have their good and bad points. I love Oscar's expressions-but they're still incomparable to Gil's~ But I like Oz and Alice after that and Echo too. Don't forget Emily and Break!!

And talking about Emily...is Emily a girl or a guy?? Because in the anime, Emily always refers to him/herself using ore which only guys use, like Gil does, but Emily's name is feminine...so I guess it's kind of like Grell from Black Butler (Black Butler rant coming soon guys! :D)

So...yeah! Go Pandora Hearts! >.< I don't think it's ended yet, so I'm waiting for chapters. T.T But that's okay since I don't have to be sad when it ends too quickly. :3

Okay, so compare and contrast however you would like...Photoshop was being very stubborn..or I don't know the program very well. Probably the latter. But! Ed became a chibi!
(Which was pretty easy since he's under 5'5" at 16 years :P)

So, here we are! I drew him as line art, physically, using Sakura inking pens. Then I scanned it up and added color on Photoshop Elements 10, which came with the tablet! (Thank you Wacom!) Well, obviously, it's not very good, especially the background and stuff, but it's one of my first complete digital art project.

BTW, Cecelia, if you're reading this post before Monday, please hide the picture on your screen~ it's dedicated to you!

Aaanyway, school is over in like TWO WEEKS! YES! Just have to worry about finals, then summer, then I'm a SOPHOMORE! Whoa, time passes so quickly....yay. I have to go to a stupid college in three years. My dad thinks I'm creepy.

And this means = summer = lots and lots of manga! >.< not that I'm a decent artist, but still. It's so fun. Manga and anime forever! (on my third book of the FMA series, eighteenth ep of FMA, and I get this really creepy feeling I've already read the books. And I was stuck over the weekend with only the FIRST book. Drove me nuts!! Will upload a fanart piece  of ed soon, if I'm not too lazy...lol)

Summer! And so the countdown begins....apparently there's only 11 days of school left! Then I'm free of fitness and the 5K final! XDDD Hang on, almost there, to all the sympathizing artists out there!

Manga is better than the anime (first series, not brotherhood), the voice actor for alphonse is blowing my top, and I'm the number 1 fan now, lol....man, there are so many amazing manga-kas out there. great costume and concept! whoo! (in my opinion, anyway)

YES, I am back! Mwahahaha! Anyway, I better stop being lazy and post something decent. So...here's something decent. Not really, but something better than before. Hahaha.

....ok. I can't find my files, so that'll take up the next post. Anyway, I think I got a little bit better at least. Meanwhile I can post some of my BIO diagrams, lol. I guess I haven't posted in a while...random rant: I got a tablet! Yes! I'm finally getting to go digital!

SPRING BREAK!!

Ah, jeez..

Hi. I'm back again.

I know this isn't the ranting blog, but I felt like ranting after months of no update...(Was it a year already? IDK)

Anyway, yesterday the weather was so depressing...I went to school, blanked out through most of my classes except for history 'cause you can't blank out in history. Sat at the back, there were empty spaces at the front and I got called up front. But it wasn't just me so I'm okay.

Now what does this have to do with manga?

I've been working on chibi lately. And I drew a chibi hopping through a puddle. Thing is, she looked really mature rather than bright. And she looked pretty depressed. (Guess why, right?)

I'm so tired today, writing this at school. I mean I got eight hours of full sleep, but I'm still kinda out of it. We're watching Easy A in class, which somehow managed to depress me even more. Oh well, you can't have life without being depressed once, right?

Anyway, please don't hate me for a post like this. I'm so lame. But this week, I've been so out of it. My drawings are getting worse...I wish I had a scanner or something. I've been drawing, yeah, but for a career, I don't think it's enough. Guys are so hard to draw...T.T

My hands are getting better, though. I can actually draw a hand gripping something. I'd scan it up, with my phone or something at the least but this stupid netbook refuses to say okay I'll accept this new hardware. I'm so tired and depressed right now..I keep telling myself that Thanksgiving break is coming up very soon..but I don't know if I can get through this week.

Guys and oldies...They're the hardest. Actually, that's a lie. Well, I've never drawn an old person before and all the guys I drew (just one or two faces, I promise) all end up looking like girls. Except for one. I drew one, profile view, in the sideline of my writing notebook, but his arms ended up looking like a freaking potato.

Depressing, ain't it? What's wrong with me?? I'm getting enough sleep but I'm not getting anywhere...

Wow. I guess I'm getting way too emo. I doubt I'm going to kill myself soon though...

I'm Back

Sorry about the little updating I did. I was trying to find something to talk about...Got too lazy...And here I am, August 2nd, 2011.

Now I'm going to rant about how my manga's gonna get worse. My school calendar is full. It's driving me nuts just LOOKING at it. Scedule: get up at around 4:45AM, get to swimming practice by 5:30AM, swim for an hour and 45 minutes, make it to school, come back and I'm at Kenney again, swimming even MORE. Or it might be dry land training. Then I've got Homework plus piano plus violin plus organ plus youth orchestra to catch up with. Plus the rides back and forth are going to be crazy because Hamy's doing soccer practice. And for the first couple weeks I get weekend practices. I'm gonna have to scedule my full scedule carefully and there's a rehersal with the Youth Orchestra on Sunday that I have to skip because it overlaps two hours with my swimming practice, which I gotta prioritize over the orchestra because there's a meet on saturday that week.

Siiiigh. What a pain. Once you don't do something for a while, it just gets worse. And look what's happening to me. My manga was finally IMPROVING and it's going to get worse. But I'll do my best to keep posting. I'm following Shoujo stories (reminder: manga for girls) now, because I don't think I want to be watching gory anime all day long. So predictable...but cute. Yeah. :)

So, in conclusion, I'll be back. As much as I can, anyway. Life is so cruel.........

Manga's of korea

apparantly, South korea focuses more on Shoujo type manga's as compared to america and it's Shonen Jump. Shoujo types are more Romance related and more focused unto girl's perspectives.....as of now, i have finished reading a graphic novel by the name of "Boys before flowers." (all you korean drama fans should know it by the name of 꽂 보다 남자. Just to tell you, the drama was made before the manga, i think....and has a different story compared to its drama counterpart.
Also, i noticed that my friggin tab key wont friggin work DX.........
now, many are wondering if i actually understand that manga, since it is in korean form.....no. Well maybe halfway but that's all. The story line is completely stupid and all that.....some girl gets hit on one guy and that guy keeps on beating the %^& out of anybody else who touches her (And i bet you, there was a whole lot.)

Noooooo!!

Yes. I may be overreacting but I just finished the movie...It's not a real movie...just an anime series made into a movie, kind of like Tsubasa Chronicles with its movie (with the same characters and maybe more), Princess of the Birdcage Kingdom...or something. I'm not sure about the title but Google it and you'll find it.

The movie I'm going nooooo about is Fate/Stay Night's Unlimited Blade Works. Yes. It's morally disturbing. (Did that sentence make sense anyway?) The anime itself was okay...The only reason why I'm so mad is because Saber, (main heroine) just HAS to die at the end!! As I read some of the manga I've grown to love her and she's gone....Both in the manga, the anime, and in the movie.

King Arturia, eh? Yeah. She's amazing...a kind of a character I want to write. I've tried to draw her armor but kinda failed, so my only fanart of her only has her in sideview with her head and shoulders. Arturia and her sword, Excalibur...(Saber's my wallpaper now!)

The manga is rated T, (13 and up) but don't bother reading something like this. As I said earlier, it's morally disturbing. The contents seem...weird. It's confusing (not as much as Tsubasa Chronicles though :D) and the storyline seems to be crammed with too many betrayals...and blood. Not that I haven't written bloody things before, it's just....disturbing, I suppose.

Another (More Recent) Pic

Hi guys! After your support (thanks guys), I made a visit to the library where I was able to scan up some of my drawings. They ARE more recent than the drawings I've been posting, but I'm still wrestling with manga, so yeah....I'll get better, I promise....

Sorry about the quality. I guess the scanners at the library aren't that good. And, although we have a scanner at our house, it doesn't work..So until I find a better way, here's one picture from my second sketchbook.

This picture compares something like anime to manga. The anime thing is bad because it's chibi instead of a full figure. I whipped it up quickly, so it's not my best...T.T And the manga....The costumes are bad. My bad...Sorry...The smaller girl's hair is inked pretty badly. You can't tell from this but it's inked carelessly. Although the drawing the picture itself actually took pretty long because I did the "coloring" with pencils. Graphite drawing kit, they seem to be called...Wow. No shadows at all. I'll get better, I promise.

At least from this picture you can see the difference between manga and anime. Manga is usually filled with speed lines and weird lines that indicate action. Which I still can't do. T.T But anime, since it's more like a movie (also note that it's in color) speed lines are not really needed. There MIGHT be. But usually there aren't any.

Right now I'm working on a prologue. It's only the first draft and I'm struggling to stuff the whole prologue into one page where there are too many actions to fit into one. And I need to stuff a whole figure, a man's figure in it...

Before I worry about that, at least my paneling is SLIGHTLY better. I've scanned up a part of manga I drew before, which actually has speed lines (they're TILTED!!! waaaahhh~~~!!) and okay paneling. Again, I'm a beginner...So yeah. I'll put these up too soon. It's an excerpt from The Last Rider! (A pretty much messed up story I've ranted about in my writing blog). But in terms of paneling and story-telling technique I'm better there. In terms of speed lines and everything else...I suppose the one I'm working on is better. When I finish the prologue I'll scan them up too.

Hi!! This Time With My Own Pic

Rant time!

Wow. Thinking back to this, this picture was pretty bad-drawn. Seriously. The wood on the bow looks like it's made of sponge. And, the folds look extremely unrealistic. The dress looks like a crystal on Dragonfable. (Yes, I used to play that.) And, the colors are bad.

Yeah, I won't really blame myself for the color, because the colored pencils I was using at that time was cheap, and cheap usually = bad. The colors were very dry and the colors didn't come out as easily as they should have.

First thing on my wishlist for art supplies: Prismacolor colored pencils. Those are amazing. They have very thick color...But I think colored pencils aren't meant to be used to color manga. I've seen on videos on Youtube that you can color manga with watercolor pencils. I think the maker's username was sophiechan or something. The manga that user draws is amazing.

Anyway, the whole point of this post was just to show you my starting manga. Even this, I drew months ago. It was at least a semester and a couple weeks ago, since I uploaded this on my school HTML website. Which is still there, but is pretty bad. Visit my friend Alice's school website. Hers is really cool.

Back to the point!!! So yeah. I think I've been drawing manga since at least early February of last year, which makes my manga drawing history about a little more than a year. Most likely is goes even more further back. The only reason of how I know this is because back then I used to draw my manga on scrap paper and on the last pages of my writing notebooks and stuff like that, so most of it's gone, but the ones I could find through moving (literally) was dated from way back there. So I've been drawing for a bit over a year, and hope to continue drawing.

But I think people improve the most after a year, and improvement also depends on how frequently people draw. Like Xepher said, he gets addicted to drawing manga, and so do I. for the past couple days, I haven't been getting a whole ton of internet, meaning I spent practically 80% of my time drawing manga, curled up on my wheely chair. I'm serious. For the first two weeks of summer, I was either moving heavy stuff or drawing. Ask Hamy if you don't believe me. That was literally all I was doing. Drawing. I was either moving, sleeping, enjoying the park right next to my new place, or drawing. And even in the park I was drawing.

But that was actually pretty good for me, since I improved a LOT. For example, my girls' hair has improved (by a lot), I can draw boys (somewhat, which is a lot better), and every part of my manga is getting so much better. But that doesn't mean I'm as good as Xepher or anything like that. I suck at paneling. And speed lines. And practically everything essential about that. (Another shout-out to ya and ur manga, Xepher!)

This post seems to be getting off topic all the time, so I'll go a little more off topic.
Guess what?
I'm getting a student! It's a friend of ours, especially Hamy's.
He's asking me to teach him manga, and I consented, but I'm not sure what I can teach him.

I LOVE to draw manga. I mean, i just cant stop drawing it, its like an addiction.
